How long does a DuraCoat job take from drop-off to pickup?
Typical turnaround is 1–2 weeks once we receive the firearm. Complex multi-color jobs and full-rig coatings (barreled action, stock, optic, suppressor) take toward the back of that window. Simple solids on a single firearm often finish sooner.
Will DuraCoat damage my optic or polymer stock?
No. DuraCoat air-cures, so there is no oven and no heat exposure — that is the main reason we use it. We can coat Aimpoints, LPVOs, polymer stocks, suppressors, and bipods as part of the same job. Cerakote, which needs a 250°F oven, cannot do this safely.
What colors can I pick for a solid finish?
FDE, OD green, black, Sniper Grey, and a large DuraCoat standard palette are always available. We also mix custom colors on request — send us a reference photo or a color code and we will match it.
How much does it cost?
Jobs start at our $250 shop minimum. From there, pricing is per color — $150 on a rifle, $120 on a handgun — plus a flat $50 surface prep fee, and the whole rig (optic, stock, suppressor, bipod) is included in the color count. Do I need a local FFL to ship my firearm to Carnimore?
No. Carnimore is a licensed Federal Firearms Dealer (FFL), so you can ship directly to us from anywhere in the United States — no middleman dealer required on either end. We ship it back to you the same way when the coating is complete.
How durable is DuraCoat compared to Cerakote?
Both cure to milspec hardness. DuraCoat is a two-part epoxy that flexes slightly, which helps it resist chipping on rifles that see actual field use. Joel coated the roof rack on his Toyota Tundra eight years ago — still holding in the Arizona sun, never garaged. The difference in the field is negligible for most shooters; the bigger differentiator is what DuraCoat lets us coat that Cerakote cannot.
Do you ship nationwide?
Yes. We take firearms from anywhere in the country and ship them back when the job is done. We also accept drop-off by appointment at our shop in New River, Arizona for Phoenix-area customers.
