DuraCoat is a 2-part chemical firearm finish with milspec hardness and chemical/weather resistance. It sprays thin enough to layer 7 to 8 coats while staying thinner than ceramic bake-on finishes. Most importantly, it air-cures, so we can coat the entire rig in one system: barreled action, optics, polymer stocks, rings, bases, even suppressors. No oven means nothing gets cooked.

DuraCoat is initially cured in about 3 weeks and continues to harden for up to 2 years. Your firearm is handle-safe when it leaves our shop. Full chemical resistance and final hardness develop over time.

Both solid DuraCoat and custom camouflage finishes run roughly $250 to $1,400 depending on the firearm, number of parts, and prep work required. Every quote is built from your specific rig. Send photos and a parts list and we'll give you an exact number.

Yes. Carnimore is a federally licensed FFL dealer. You can ship firearms directly to us without going through a third-party FFL. We'll handle chain-of-custody documentation on our end and ship back to you or your dealer.

Yes, we accept firearms shipped from anywhere in the United States. If you're shipping from a non-FFL (yourself, as the owner), you can ship directly to us via common carrier per ATF guidelines. We'll return ship to you (or your local FFL if required by your state) once work is complete.

It depends on the job. DuraCoat air-cures, so we can coat optics, polymer, and full rigs in one system. Cerakote requires a bake cycle that damages those materials. DuraCoat also layers, which is what makes custom hand-applied camouflage possible. Cerakote has a slight edge in abrasion testing on bare metal. For full rigs and custom work, DuraCoat wins. Yes, and this is one of the biggest advantages of DuraCoat over oven-cured finishes. Because DuraCoat air-cures, we can coat scopes, red dots, rings, bases, and mounts without damaging internals or lens coatings. The whole rig ends up looking like one system instead of a rifle with mismatched glass.

Yes. DuraCoat bonds to polymer, carbon fiber, and composite materials without heat. We routinely finish Magpul stocks, polymer grips, handguards, and full chassis systems as part of the rig.

Yes. Suppressors coat beautifully in DuraCoat and match the rest of the rig. Because suppressors are NFA items, call us first and we'll walk you through the transfer paperwork for your situation.

Full DuraCoat color library: FDE, OD green, black, Sniper Grey, Magpul FDE/OD, tan, bronze, coyote, graphite, and dozens more. We also mix custom colors on request and match existing hardware (scope tubes, rail systems, stocks) when you want a seamless rig.

Yes, this is our specialty. Every camouflage job is built from scratch around your terrain (desert, woodland, alpine, brush). No templates, no two alike. Joel has been hand-applying custom camouflage patterns for 25+ years using a proprietary system developed specifically for firearm finishing.

Normal use. Wipe down with any standard gun oil or CLP. DuraCoat is chemical-resistant, so solvents won't harm the finish. Avoid aggressive wire brushing directly on the coating. Deep cleaning with bore solvents is fine. The coating will outlast most owners.

Yes. We strip the existing finish (Cerakote, DuraCoat, parkerizing, bluing, anodizing), re-prep the surface, and re-coat in whatever you want. The exact cost depends on how aggressive the strip has to be, and we'll include it in your quote.

Sometimes. If you have a hunt or match on the calendar, call us. Rush slots open up when schedules shift. We can't guarantee them, but we'll tell you whether we can hit your date.

Yes, the majority of our coating work is on customer-owned firearms we didn't originate. Send us what you have and we'll finish it.

Yes. Plenty of customers only want a specific part coated (barrel refresh, stock only, suppressor match). Send photos of what you want done and we'll quote it.

Occasionally. We build custom rifles in small runs. Current availability is on our shop page. Most of our work is coating customer-owned firearms, not selling new ones.
