How We Price

Per color, plus prep.

Two numbers drive every quote: (colors × rate) + $50 surface prep. The whole rig is included in the color count because DuraCoat air-cures and we don’t have to leave the optic, stock, or suppressor out.

Handgun

$120per color

+ $50 Surface Prep (Flat)

Includes full disassembly, ultrasonic clean, slide, frame, small parts, sights, and reassembly.

Examples

all-in totals

  • 2-color slide and frame contrast$290
  • 3-color pattern$410
  • 4-color custom camo$530

Rifle

$150per color

+ $50 Surface Prep (Flat)

Includes the whole rig: barreled action, stock, optic, suppressor, bipod, bottom metal. No "just the receiver" pricing games.

Examples

all-in totals

  • 2-color contrast (barrel and receiver)$350
  • 3-color custom camo$500
  • 4-color layered hunting pattern$650

Carnimore Balls to the Wall

$1,400flat

Unlimited colors. Stencil work. Prep included.

One rifle. No color budget. No committee input. We take the pattern as far as we can take it and you get something nobody else on the continent owns.

This is the tier for the hunter who wants the rifle that stops conversations in deer camp, or the collector who wants a finish that reads as fine art up close. One project, one rifle, we execute the vision.

Shop minimum: $250.The formula is (colors × rate) + $50 surface prep. Any build that math-es out below $250 rolls up to the $250 minimum. Carnimore Balls to the Wall is $1,400 flat, all-in, with prep included.

What Moves the Number

The whole formula.

01

Number of colors

This is the only variable that moves the per-color math. One color, one multiplier. Four colors, four multipliers. A custom camouflage pattern is priced by counting the distinct colors in the pattern.

02

Rifle or handgun

Handguns are $120 per color. Rifles, shotguns, and AR-pattern firearms are $150 per color. That's the entire per-color model.

03

Surface preparation

Every job carries a flat $50 surface prep fee. That covers the full solvent degrease, adhesion test, bond promoter, and final wipe before any color gets sprayed. The fee is $50 whether you run one color or five.

04

Whole rig is included

Optic, stock, suppressor, bipod, sights, bottom metal. All coated in the same color count. Because DuraCoat air-cures, nothing has to be removed from the quote for heat reasons.

05

What's already on the firearm

Clean or lightly worn surfaces are straightforward. Heavily pitted, previously painted, or badly stripped finishes sometimes need extra prep time beyond the standard $50. We flag that on the quote before starting.

06

Shop minimum

Our shop minimum is $250. The formula is (colors × rate) + $50 surface prep. Any build that comes in below $250 rolls up to the $250 minimum.

07

Turnaround

Standard queue runs 1 to 2 weeks from receipt. Rush work is possible case by case but priced accordingly.

What’s always included.

  • Full disassembly of the firearm down to component level.
  • Industrial ultrasonic cleaning.
  • Masking of bore, chamber, threads, and precision interfaces.
  • Hand-applied DuraCoat application.
  • Proper cure time. No rushed return.
  • Reassembly, function check, and quality inspection before shipment.

Plus the $50 surface prep step. Solvent degrease, adhesion test, bond promoter, final wipe. Flat fee, whether you run one color or five.

If you want a standalone ultrasonic clean without a coating, we offer that too. See firearm cleaning.

Common Questions

Coating cost FAQ.

How much does it cost to DuraCoat a rifle?

A rifle is $150 per color plus a flat $50 surface prep fee. A three-color custom camouflage pattern runs $500. A four-color pattern runs $650. The price includes the whole rifle (receiver, barrel, stock, optic, bipod, suppressor), not just the metal.

How much does it cost to DuraCoat a handgun?

A handgun is $120 per color plus a flat $50 surface prep fee. A two-color slide and frame contrast runs $290. A three-color pattern runs $410. Includes ultrasonic cleaning, full disassembly, and reassembly. Minimum is $250.

What is the Carnimore Balls to the Wall package?

$1,400 flat, all-in, for a single rifle build with unlimited colors, stencil work, and full creative domain within reason. Surface prep is included. If you want us to run the pattern as far as we can take it, with no color budget and no committee input, this is the package.

How much does a custom camouflage gun coating cost?

Custom camouflage is priced by color count: $150 per color on a rifle, $120 per color on a handgun, plus $50 surface prep. A typical layered hunting pattern runs 3 to 5 colors, so most rifle camo builds land in the $500 to $800 range. For unlimited colors and stencil work, see the $1,400 Carnimore Balls to the Wall package.

Does the price include the optic and stock?

Yes. Because DuraCoat air-cures with no oven, we include the optic, stock, suppressor, bipod, and everything else on the rig in the same quote. Full-rig coverage is the point, not a line-item upsell.

What is the shop minimum?

Our shop minimum is $250. The base formula is (colors × rate) + $50 surface prep. Any build that comes in below $250 rolls up to the $250 minimum.
